JOB TITLE: Distributor Operator

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Drives heavy duty truck and operates specialized motorized asphalt tack equipment. Ensures the safe and timely delivery of prep product to the jobsite at the proper temp and according to local, state, federal and company regulations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to Transportation Manager, or the on-site supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safely and efficiently delivers product to job site. Returns to plant in a timely manner. Maintains jobsite cleanliness when applying tack product. Properly maintains equipment by conducting pre and post-trip inspections, mechanical write-ups and cleanliness of both interior and exterior of truck. Properly fills and manages liquid levels of tack product. Follows all APC Construction Co., LLC safety procedures and DOT regulations.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion including and operating levers or controls, manual dexterity and eye hand coordination. Requires use of foot-controlled pedals and sitting for extensive periods of time. Occasionally requires pushing, pulling, shoveling and carrying items weighing up to 60 pounds and pressure. Requires correct vision and hearing within normal range and medical requirements as defined and determined by DOT/CDL and medical provider. This is a safety sensitive position.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Possible exposure to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, noise and other conditions common to a construction site. Irregular hours, nights, weekends, swing shifts and holidays may be required for contractual obligations.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This may not include all of the duties assigned)
1. Perform pre-and post-trip inspections.
2. Prepare documents, reports as required.
3. Perform minor adjustments and maintenance.
4. Monitor and Secure equipment and loads.
5. Know, understand and follow all city, county, and state DOT/CDL rules and regulations including those in the Company “Employee Safety Policy and Handbook.”
6. Perform related work as required.
7. Keep truck clean.
8. Keep the vehicle free from debris which may fall off and damage other vehicles on streets and highways.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to drive/operate applicable vehicle. Must be capable of driving a manual transmission with proficiency. Ability to successfully maneuver vehicle forward and backward. Knowledge and ability to maintain and perform all paper work in accordance with Federal, State and/or Company requirements. Basic reading, writing and simple math skills. Regular and on-time attendance required.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent may be required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred, but willing train the right candidate.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Valid and active Class B CDL (Commercial Driver License) with tanker endorsement, and current DOT medical card.
ADDITION TO MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Driver applications must be 100% complete to be accepted by APC, and must include 10 years of work history.
