Environmental Stewardship

Your Advocate for Environmental Sustainability

As responsible stewards of both natural resources and the land, we pride ourselves in contributing to a cleaner environment. We maximize the use of resources by recycling asphalt pavements and use state-of-the-art pollution control equipment at our production facilities. We also have the capability to provide warm mix asphalt, which is produced and placed at lower temperatures than conventional hot mix asphalt. This technology reduces energy consumption and emissions, and allows the asphalt pavement to be placed in colder temperatures, thereby potentially extending the paving season in Colorado.

For more information on recycled pavements, warm mix asphalt, and other environmentally friendly paving practices and products, see the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) report "Black and Green."

Our Use of The Land Is A Temporary One

After the minerals have been removed, we reclaim the aggregate mining areas so they can be put to long-term uses beneficial to the community, such as water storage, golf courses, and residential areas. Our mining and reclamation plans and operations are designed and implemented to conserve and protect valuable water resources. Concurrent reclamation is one very successful technique that we have utilized to create valuable water storage facilities, wetlands, and wildlife habitats.
